If you know Scott, you’ll know that if I divulge exact locations, my body will never be found!
I had the pleasure of participating in a 2-day Spring Warbler migration workshop in May 2025 with Scott Keys. This was my first ever wildlife photography workshop. I've been following Scott's YouTube channel, Wildlife Inspired, for a long time, and I've “known" Scott online for a couple of years as one of his Patreon members. He’s been my online wildlife photography mentor for the past 2 years. I'd already learned a huge amount from him online, so I wasn't sure how much I'd learn during this workshop, but I came home with many more tips, tricks, and improved technique than I ever expected. Scott had previously scouted all of the locations over the past few years years, so he knew what species to expect at various locations. He has an impressive in-depth knowledge of each species’ behavior patterns and their habitats. He drove the other participant and I around to all shooting locations so that we didn't have to worry about driving. Between morning and evening sessions, we would go back to the airBNB house, download our photos and start editing them. He provided valuable advice on editing as needed. It was a fantastic experience, and I got 5 new lifer birds (species that I’ve never seen before). As you can see below, we saw multiple species of warblers and many other birds.
